Dang it, what’d I do
I’m partially making a new page just to have a new post to test some behind the scenes changes, but also to see if I can get a little help. If anybody out there has experience with running sites through WordPress, I could use a bit of advice. I added Simple Comment Editing to both Far Out There and Conventional Wisdom, to give people time to amend comments without having to just add a second reply and whathaveyou, and at first it seemed to work fine. But at some point recently, it stopped working on Far Out There. JUST Far Out There, it’s still working fine at CWcomic.com. The two sites are practically identical, to the best that I can recall I’ve never installed anything or change doodads on one but not the other, and the plugin SAYS it’s still working even though it’s clearly not. Anybody out there in Internet Land have any clue what’s going on? I’m doing the whole “remove and reinstall” routine and stuff like that, but since I’m still not sure what started all this (or even when it began) I can’t be sure I’m even poking at the right things. Again, I haven’t really been doing much website tinkering lately, I’ve just been focused on re-posting old comics for the past couple of months, so I can’t think of anything I actually could have done to mess up just ONE of the sites. And, of course, there’s the more foundational problem of me not really knowing how ANY of this stuff actually works…
Man, it’s times like these when I miss just having a dorky ol’ Geocities page. Such simpler times…
EDIT: It just keeps getting more confounding. I installed the same comment editor on this site, and it worked just fine. Then I tried out a DIFFERENT editor plugin here, and it ALSO worked fine, but when I put THAT one on Far Out There it didn’t work EITHER. So something on that site must me interfering with how the plugins work… and I of course have no idea what it could be (let alone why it’s not also on the other sites)

The *really* mystifying thing is when you throw up your hands and completely give up on fixing it…and then a week later it spontaneously starts working correctly on its own.
I blame The Internet.
It obviously hates us.
Edit: Yup. I can edit this.
See? SEE? I installed the exact same thing on this page, and it works perfectly! And if anything, I have MORE stuff running on this site than the others, since this is my Frankenstein testing lab for site stuff. I have NO IDEA what could be on Far Out There and Far Out There alone that’s only breaking the plugin there and not here!
