Amen to that.
Right now, my biggest struggle is figuring out get the navigation buttons in the right place.
Check out actually having tags for pages! That’s gonna make browsing through the archive a LOT easier.
I assumed there would be some way to bulk copy ll the pages over at once, but of course life is never that easy.
Or, rather, if there is some way to do it, one would usually expect to discover that method right immediately after one has finished manually moving all 1500 pages one at a time.
SmackJeeves USED to have some way to at least download a full archive of a comic, but I don’t know if it would have preserved the commentary, and anyway the feature seems to have vanished in the site overhaul. I don’t see any way to mass port a whole stack of posts onto a new WordPress though. Anyway, I’d still want to add tags and new comments, so I’d end up manually editing every one no matter what.
Oh please, in a ACTUAL emergency, commenting on a webcomic would be the LAST thing we’d have time for
*cue actual emergency ironically happening right after I post this*
It could be a webcomic-related emergency!
Like, say, if a major webcomic host were to suddenly intentionally screw up their entire format, forcing many of their webcomicers to flee in panic to the uncharted waters of self-hosting. But what are the odds of something crazy like that happening, right? π
Actually, now that I think of it, anyone under 40-ish probably won’t even remember the old cold-war era EBS warnings I was referencing. Now that makes me feel old. π
(and of course non U.S. readers wouldn’t anyway)

Just checking to see if the emojis that don’t work on faroutthere.com work fine here or not
edit: seems to have the same problem here also. smiley and frowney are replaced with boxes
I did try it with a couple different browsers, so it’s probably not on my end. maybe.
….and it’s already better than the “New Smackjeeves”

But wouldn’t that feature require *someone* to actually (in their spare time) tag about 1,500 or so pages with appropriate tags? π
(Hey, look, I can actually directly reply to previous comments now! It’s a miracle of modern webbing technology!!)
I just figured I’d do it as I put the pages up in the first place. I’ll be going in and adding the original authors comment’s anyway.
